my work at centene

On this project my employer was Brillio and my client was Centene. Centene Corporation, based in St. Louis, Missouri, is an intermediary for government-sponsored and privately insured healthcare programs. Centene ranked No. 25 on the 2023 Fortune 500.

I started at Centene as a senior UX designer working on HealthNet Employer Portal project. Employer Portal is an insurance platform where employers would come to pay premiums for their different types of insurance they copay for their employees.

For this project we were optimizing user flows and implementing a new UI in accordance with the Centene design system Fondue who's foundation was material UI. Additionally we were also incorporating requirements for secondary insurance platform QualChoice which had its own specific feature sets. The project also included redesigning the admin support portal and also integrating ping identity universal login.

It was required that this work incorporated A11Y accessibility standards as required by law. Additionally there was a high level of user testing and documentation to validate all design decisions

The most challenging part of this project was the fact that we had to understand all flows and screens without having access to the actual site due to PII compliance. We had to gain this understanding by screenshots provided by the client.

After doing good work and establishing a rapport with the client UX Director, our sales team at Brillo was able to bring on additional projects at Centene. In addition to leading a project I began to manage a team of 6 UX leads across the portfolio and a total of 18 UX Designers. I was also asked to lead a second project (Project Care) and team on the account in addition to my other duties.
